Germany beat Portugal 3-2 in Basle, goals by Bastian Schweinsteiger, Miroslav Klose and Michael Ballack. This mean German in the Semi while Portugal out of tournament following 2 consecutive lost. The German has been stuttering form since the opening match, but against Portugal, they are like another team.

Other updates include Italy and Russia pip in to the Q-Final following their convincing win in the final group match. Italy beat France 2-0 while Russia beat one of the tournament favorites, 2-0.
