Man U crowned the EPL champs

The champs of English Premier League

The final day of EPL proof to be an interesting one indeed. First of all, we have Man Utd tie with Chelsea on points but with far superior goal difference. Chelsea can pip Man Utd to the crown only if Man Utd drop points, while Chelsea win. But if Man Utd win and Chelsea win with 18 ++ goals, then they can still be crowned champion. So, the day came and while the Red Devils are doing their job not to lose points in the 1st 45 minutes, Chelsea have trouble finding the net. Though Ronaldo scores in the 33rd minute but Wigan are doing the best to troubled United, and to keep the scoreline trim. Bolton at the same time were also holding on Chelsea well. Then after the 15 minutes break, Chelsea scores. While all this happening, Reading and Birmingham are trying their best to stay in the EPL, but then suddenly we heard that Fulham scores. Meaning Fulham will remain in top flight if the scoreline stays while Reading and Birmingham will drop no matter how many goals they score. Then the bad news come in for Chelsea. Chelsea's fans keep on praying that the Red Devils will drop points in their last game while at the same time hoping that their team will win. Soon after that Ryan Giggs came on with the 758 appearances record, sealed the game for the Red Devils with 10 minutes remaining. And Manchester United are the champs. Indeed while Man Utd are doing themselves a favour by getting full points at JJB station, Chelsea dropped points in the very last minute. Matthew Taylor equalize for Bolton in the 90th minute. Other match being played at the same time is Middlesborough playing Man City with final score of 8-1. Well that wraps up the 2007/08 EPL campaign. Man Utd crowned the champs, Chelsea 2nd place, while Arsenal, the team heading the league table most of the time in third placing. EPL will surely be missing Birmingham, Reading and Derby which were relegated for next season campaign.
